Visit Shwedagon Pagoda at sunset
The highlight of any trip to Yangon is a visit to the spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda, which dates back about 2500 years and was built to house eight sacred hairs of the Buddha. Its bell-shaped superstructure, resting on a terraced base, is covered in about 60 tonnes of gold-leaf, which is constantly being replaced – Overnight in Yangon

Discover the Beauty of Bagan
Bagan is a true bucket-list destination! Thousands of crumbling temples, pagodas and stupas rise from the ancient desert plain. These beautiful, other-worldly structures were built by the kings of Bagan in the 11th and 12th centuries. Words don’t do this incredible landscape justice so let’s get out there and see them for ourselves. We’ll visit renowned temples, and also discover some of the lesser known, but equally impressive pagodas. Each temple has its own story to tell so we’ll never tire of seeing more. And in the evening

By horsecart to view sunset over Bagan
Travel by horsecart along the peaceful countryside around Bagan, passing graceful stupas along the way. Dusk is a scenic time to be on the roads, as local people make their way home. Continue to a nearby temple to watch the sun set over the plain of Bagan – Overnight in Bagan

Shwe Sar Yan Golf Course is located 15 kilometers outside of Mandalay on the way to Maymyo. Opened in 1990, it features a clubhouse with basic facilities and a small local restaurant. It is best played between October and February.

Mandalay
the name alone evokes the romance of old colonial Burma. We’ll visit Mahamuni Paya, famous for its seated Buddha covered in gold leaf. Every morning at 4am its gleaming face is washed by the monks in a unique ceremony. We’ll wander into a workshop to see muscled workers hand-beating gold leaf with enormous hammers. At Shwenandaw Kyaung, made entirely out of teak (even though it’s also known as the Golden Teak Monastery, we can see the beautifully intricate carvings. There’s a lot more to be enjoyed here, including other ornate temples and wooden monasteries as well as panoramic views from Mandalay Hill. Today’s Highlights: Mahamuni Paya, Shwenandaw Kyaung, Kyauktawgyi Paya, Kuthodaw Paya, Shwe Kyin Old Monastery, craft workshop.
Visit Mandalay Hill at sunset
Visit Mandalay Hill and take an easy climb up sheltered steps to experience panoramic views over the palace, Mandalay and the paya-studded countryside. The famous hermit monk, U Khanti, is credited with inspiring the construction of many of the buildings on and around the hill in the years after the founding of the city – Overnight in Mandalay

Enjoy a round of golf at the Pine View Golf Club in the heart of Kalaw. This 9-hole course was built by the British in 1920 and is still very popular within the local community. If your ball hits a cow, it is a 1 stroke penalty – Overnight in Kalaw

Day 7 Kalaw – Taunggyi (Breakfast: Hotel )

During our road trip to Taunggyi, we’ll discover thousands of Buddha images in a vast limestone cavern. The Pindaya Caves are set deep in the hillside and contain a multitude of Buddha images made from teakwood, marble, lacquer and plaster. Today’s Highlights: Pindaya Caves – Overnight in Taunggyi

Day 8 Taunggyi – Inle Lake (Breakfast: Hotel )
Round of golf at Aye Thar Yar Golf Club (including green fee and caddy)
This Golf Course was opened in 2001 and is the newest Golf Course in this area. It is best played between October and February. During the rest of the year the fairways are rather rough and dry. A local restaurant and basic shower facilities are available.
Sightseeing in Taunggyi
Perched on top of a mountain, Taunggyi is the pine-clad capital of the Shan State. We’ll visit the central market, a great place to spot colourful hilltribe people. On the outskirts of the town is the huge Sulamani Pagoda built in 1994. Today’s Highlights: Local market, Sulamani Pagoda

Day 9 Inle Lake (Breakfast: Hotel )
Excursion by boat on Inle Lake to Indein and Sae Ma Village
Thousands of mysterious temples and stupas await at the end of a boat ride along a narrow creek cloaked in foliage. The indein complex is a collection of over 1,000 densely packed Shan-style stupas in varying states of decay. Part of its charm is that it has escaped restoration and the air of neglect just adds to the ethereal atmosphere. Don’t forget your camera as this place is otherwordly. We’ll continue by foot to a small village where we’ll meet with the villagers and monks. Today’s Highlights: Boat to Indein, Sea Ma Village
