Muang Sing

Muang Sing Town’s landscape is predominantly mountainous with elevation ranging between 540 to 2,094 meters, traditionally dominated by forest and upland swidden farming.

The Museum is a good place to start exploring Muang Sing’s rich culture and history. The old wood and brick building was once the residence of Phanya Sekong, a local lord called Jao Fa Noi or Little Prince, who ruled over the area in the early 20th century.

The small town and district of Muang Sing sits nestled in a wide-open valley ringed by a fortress of green hills and mountains. The area, especially in the markets in town is a center of commerce for a large variety of ethnic groups.

A supremely picturesque village, situated on an upland plateau, where golden rattan huts glow among misty blue-green peaks.

Visit the scenic Nong Tang Lake, rimmed with limestone cliffs; and the extensive cave network of Tham Pha Cave.

Men and women in traditional dress are a common sight and this concentration of minority groups is not found elsewhere in Laos.

This is the place for a challenging trekking.
